Held annually in February, A Taste of Melanin brings together thousands of attendees to spotlight culture, creativity, and community through food, art, music, finance, wellness, workforce development, and STEAM.
As a Community Educational Program created by The Zay Project, this high-energy gathering amplifies Black-owned businesses, showcases emerging and established creatives, and provides hands-on resources for families and youth. From flavorful cuisine and live performances to interactive exhibits and educational zones, A Taste of Melanin is where culture meets impact.
Serving 1,500+ each year, the Grand Finale event is the heartbeat of the experience — a dynamic, all-ages celebration that brings the entire community together to honor the legacy, lifestyle, and lasting culture of the Black community.
